Not Quite...

Welcome!

I have decided to start a blog documenting our journey on achieving a great marriage. While we have a wonderful marriage, one that is often verbally envied by a lot of people, it is so far from perfect! We are continuously working on it! My husband and I met in high school and were married before our last year in college. We have been married now for 8 1/2 years.

The number one key to having a great marriage is accepting and knowing that God has to be the center of it. There are so many times that I can't even imagine what would have happened to us had we not been centered on God. He is our rock and our foundation.

Accepting that, we know that divorce is never an option for us. Do you know how relieving that is? To know that no matter how big the fight, or how big the screw-up (with certain exceptions), my husband will not walk out that door and never return is a key to our happiness.

We know that we both have to try our hardest to mirror Christ in all that we do. When we do that, marriage is easy...it's when we stop acting like Him that it goes downhill.

I will also talk about how much of a major impact kids have on a marriage. We have 3 wonderful kids, and each one of them, in a unique way, have had both positive and negative impacts on our marriage. I will hit on these areas because I know that so many couples experience them when they have kids.

So if you're looking for answers to questions, I hope that I can help you...I'm no expert by any means, but so far we seem to be doing very well!

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://perfectingyourmarriage.blogspot.com/2009/04/perfect-marriage-not-quite.html' title='A Perfect Marriage?
